Bristol South CC held their annual 50 mile time trial on Saturday evening, run on the A419 course near Cirencester. Unfortunately, this course has been plagued with problems in recent months, accidents, bad weather and roadworks have led to cancellations and course changes and the BSCC event also had to be cut short after a major car crash and lucky escape for one of the competitors. Many of the riders had completed the 50 miles by then and were credited with times, Vince Hounsome setting a new pb for this distance of 2 hours 2 minutes, 5 seconds. Simon Rouse finished with 2.11.07 while Alan Smith had a 14 minute late start penalty included in his time of 2.31.08.
James Chant was the sole GDW representative at Poole Wheelers 10 mile Open, James managing a 23.45 for 35th out of the 66 finishers. Chris Ball (Bio Bike RT) was the winner with 20.14. Full results here
