As per previous years Vincent Hounsome (apart from 2 years ago when a new hip prevented him taking part) is planning his usual ride to Swanage (with a ferry via Sandbanks) over the Xmas break – its weather dependent and the provisional date is Sun 27th Dec with a reserve day Mon 28th and the route file will be added a few days beforehand. For those doing the Festive 500 this is an ideal ride to get the miles in.
The pace will be in the region of 16-17 mph, heading out on a fairly flat route via Child Okeford, Blandford, Wareham, Corfe, back via Wimborne, Cranborne, Sixpenny Handley, Shaftesbury – approx. 90 miles. Departing from Wheels at 9am sharp, bring lights in case the light fades. If there are more than 6 we will split into smaller groups.
