On the hottest day of the year so far, the Pink Group set out for the coast at West Bay. Suntan lotion duly applied we headed towards Stalbridge, Chetnole and Evershot, before the long, steep and fast descent into Beaminster.
The road from Beaminster to Bridport was largely downhill as Vince towed us towards the coast. With the sea in the air we pulled into West Bay for a well earned refueling stop at Cherries Ice Cream Parlour.
Route planner Mike told the group that the route home wasn’t too hilly!!!! The next 12 miles or so involved numerous climbs with about 600m of elevation gained. Conrad remained strong on the way home on his longest ride to date.
A final drinks stop was taken at the Hazelbury village shop before the final, weary push for home.
