Salisbury Plain Area Mountainbiking Club held their annual off-road challenge ride on Sunday. Amongst the large entry of nearly 700 riders, there were a few GDW riders tackling the mix of fields, woods and tank tracks across the Plain. In the Ladies’ 25kms event, Jenny Lucas and Lorraine Tuck finished closely together with times of 1 hour 42.47 and 1.42.55 to finish with 5th and 6th fastest times respectively. In the Mens’ 35k section, Julian Chown set the 14th fastest time with 1.37.09 with Ben Day (Torico) in 1.40.55 and Pete Dyer in 2.00.12. Emma Bradley finished the Ladies’ 35k distance in 1.41.16 for third while Nigel Brown completed the full 50k route in 2.01.41 for 10th.

The next round of the GDW mountain bike race series takes place this Sunday (9th), meet at the Alfred’s Tower car park to register in time for the start time of 930.
