It may be sunny, it may even be warm, but there will be an easterly wind for the first April ride.
The White route first heads to Bourton and then across to Mere, Hindon, Chilmark and two Teffonts, before taking advantage of the tailwind to return through Tisbury and Semley.
The Blue and Pink routes head up Motcombe Hollow and over Zig Zag where the routes diverge. The Pink route heads past Farnham and onto the Gussages then across to Damerham and Martin on the way to Broadchalke and Alvediston, joining the White route just south of Tisbury.
The Blue routes goes through Tollard Royal and 6d Handley, before joining the Pink route at Martin.
Meet at 9.00 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshement.
The routes all finish at The Old Brewery Cafe in Gillingham where you can stop for coffee, cake or lunch.
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
Pink Route: 96.9 kms, 1,004 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh+ / 17.5 mph +
Blue Route: 87.1 kms, 1,031 m elevation – est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph
White Route: 59.4 kms, 569 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
