The forecast for Saturday looks to be getting pretty windy from the SW from about 1pm, probably not as bad as Bert and Darragh in previous weeks but will most likely be increasing in strength as we get to lunchtime. There’s the added risk of rain (70 – 90%) depending on which weather app you look at.

I have created a joint Pink/Blue group route that heads to Ilchester and returns via Sherborne and there are coffee stops at the Ilchester Arms or further on at Sherborne, Olivers has a good selection of cakes/pastries. The White group head to Sparkford and can stop at Maccies or the Motor Museum

Meet at 9.30 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshments.

There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!

Pink/Blue Route: 81.1 kms, 726 m elevation – Pink est speed 28 kmh+ / 17.5 mph +, Blue est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph

White Route: 60.3 kms, 547 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph

For those who have issues downloading their routes, here’s the guide for a Garmin device and here’s the guide for a Wahoo device.
