The Rapha Festive 500 returns for 2022, the aim is to ride 500km between Christmas and New Years eve (8 days). Quite a number of club riders over the years have completed this, and this can be completed either virtually or more traditionally on roads. Paddy Dunne in 2014 was 3rd overall in the world and cycled an awesome total of 1740 km.
There will be an Xmas eve club ride to start the challenge off, more details next week.
Vince Hounsome is planning his usual Swanage ride (without a ferry via Sandbanks as its out of service ) – its weather dependent and the provisional date is Wed 28th Dec with a reserve day of Thurs 29th. The pace will be in the region of 16-17 mph, as the ferry is not running at the moment the route has been changed for 2022.
