Nigel Brown won again in the GDW mountain bike series this morning, completely dominating the race from start to finish.  Nigel opted to use his cyclocross bike today as the course changes meant the route was mainly on the fire roads, and it was obviously the correct decision.  Kim Little moved to the top of the championship with second place ahead of event organiser Vince Hounsome.  Fourth went to Jay Hookins with his best result so far while Jake Ludgate moved up throughout the race from outside the top 10 early on to eventually coming home in fifth.  Film from Mike Smith on the video page here
Results are here.  Just a note on the championship, this will be calculated on each rider’s best four scores from the series so dropped scores are now starting to come in to play.
In other news, the Army CU crit races continued yesterday with continued large entries at the Ludgershall circuit.  Over 60 riders turned out for the 3rd/4th Cat race which unfortunately ended in a mass pile up just before the last corner of the race.  Several riders hit the deck, including Mike Smith and Josh Day, while many more were held up leaving a group of about a dozen riders to contest the sprint finish.  Josh was pretty badly bashed about, lots of road rash and bruises, a shoulder cut from a chainring and a damaged ankle which had got trapped in another rider’s wheel.   James Chant, Nigel Brown and new junior member Neil Mackinnon were classified 20th, 33rd and 34th.
