What a pre-Christmas cracker to kick it all off. 14 of us managed to get the time and the technology to work for the 16k bike TT. 3 riders braved the roads of Dorset and Wiltshire whilst the others chose the indoor option.
Interesting stat of the week – both the woman and open category rider who were first to send in their time were first over the week (and less surprising, they both chose the same course of Tempus Fugit on Zwift).
Congratulations to Clare Coward (26:19) in the Women’s category, but it looks like it is going to be close with Angela Barlow and Sarah Wheeler close behind.
In the Open category, James Little smashed out a sub 22 minute with Shawn Gray and Mark Harvey not too far back. There were seconds between many other riders showing that it could prove very interesting as the season progresses.
5k run this week (send time to wright.innes@gmail.com by 9pm on Christmas Eve). The Festive 500 also starts on Christmas Eve for an 8-day challenge.
More detail can be found in GDW Winter Series. If you didn’t get the chance to enter a performance this week, it is not too late for the season. There are still 8 more events and lots of points available until mid-March. It will be interesting to see how the Wheelers’ fitness progresses over the series.
