At this morning’s Poole Wheelers Open, Vince Hounsome became the fifth Wheeler to get under the hour in a 25 mile time trial this season. The event was also the final round of the EDCA championship. Vince finished with a time of 58.58 for 22nd place from a field of 54 riders. Conditions were far from ideal for a course with nine roundabout turns as it was wet and slippery with a headwind on the sections which headed West. James Chant, after recently breaking the hour for the first time, resumed his usual 25 mile pace, just missing out with 1.00.25 for 29th place.
James was also in tt action on Saturday, this time pairing up with junior rider Ollie Feltham for a 2-up run by the Bournemouth and District Women’s CA. The course was the Ringwood-Sopley-Bransgore 10 miler. Ollie and James managed to hit their pre-event target of getting into the 25s with a 25.47 finishing in third place overall.
The Frome Cobble Wobble is all sold out now, unless you are under the age of 18. There are still a few places left in under 14s and 14-17 categories.
