The CTT have confirmed that the list of banned deep-rim/aero front wheels applies to both Open and Club events. As with full-disc front wheels, they are banned on safety grounds and accidents involving riders using this equipment would be uninsured by the CTT. Unfortunately, this leaves GDW with little option other than to implement this rule as our club time trials are run under CTT regulations. As a consequence riders with bikes fitted with the following wheels on the front will not be able to compete –
Zipp 1080, Mavic IO and X-treme Aeromax. Other wheel models are being assessed by CTT so this list may grow in the future.
This rule will not be applied retrospectively so all previous results will stand.
