This Saturday is again looking dry with just light winds. There are 3 routes this week and they all head west ish, the pink, blue and white routes all head up Langham Lane through Buckhorn Weston, Horsington, Milborne Port to Goathill. Here the pink and blues turn off to Alweston, they then go on the a3030 for a mile and on to Beer if you can Hackett. The blues then carry on to Bradford Abbas, the pink route turns left through to Yetminster and Rhyme Intrinseca and there is an optional cafe stop at Hamish’s Farm Shop or 2 miles further on at the village cafe in East Coker. The pinks then turn right through North Coker and head past the Yeovil showground (which is where the start of the 3 day Tour of Wessex sportive is in 2023) . then through Stoford and on to Bradford Abbas where they join the blue route which returns to Gillingham via Sherborne, Sigwells, Holton and Wincanton
The White route carries straight on at Goathill towards Bishops Caundle, then heads back to Gillingham via Stourton Caundle, Stalbridge. Fifehead Magdalen and Bugley. All routes finish at the Old Brewery Cafe for Coffee and a catch up.
Meet at 9.00 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, inner tubes etc.
All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability.
Pink Route: 56 miles, 3200 ft elevation – est speed 17 to 19 mph
Blue Route: 47 miles, 2800 ft m elevation – est speed 14.5 to 16 mph
White Route: 33 miles, 1800 ft elevation – est speed 12.5 tp 13.5 mph
