After a difficult period for group rides the weather is looking ok this Saturday, with little wind and some sunshine – however temps are low rising from about 1˚ to 6˚ during the ride – please dress warmly! Hopefully there won’t be much in the way of ice, but we will start slightly later at 9:30 to be a little safer.
All routes head north east, out through Zeals and up the gentle climb of Druley Hill before descending Gare Hill. Here the whites will turn off to Trudoxhill and ride across to Bruton. The others will carry on to Nunney, a short time after which the blues will turn off toward Shepton Mallet and Pilton. The pinks will carry on to Binegar and then Wells, before turning for home and meeting the blues at Pilton and then the whites at Bruton. All routes then returning to Gillingham via Charlton Musgrove.
Meet at 9.30 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials. All routes are free to add in a cafe stop if the riders wish. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
Pink Route: 54.4 miles, 3474ft elevation – est speed 17 mph +
Blue Route: 47.1 miles, 3275ft elevation – est speed 15 mph
White Route: 34.5 miles, 1856ft elevation – est speed 12 mph
