The good news: it’s forecast to be dry and sunny with virtually no wind. The bad news: Winter temperatures have arrived! There is currently the possiblilty of an overnight frost so please check Facebook on Friday evening in case the normal meet up time is put back!
All the routes head to Wincanton and Sparkford. The Pinks continue past RNAS Yeovilton to Ilchester before turning towards Sherborne. The Blues take a short cut missing the Yeovilton loop but follow the same roads back from Sherborne. The Whites head direct to Sherborne from Sparkford.
Meet at 9.00 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshement.
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
Pink Route: 89.2 kms, 908 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh+ / 17.5 mph +
Blue Route: 78.4 kms, 832 m elevation – est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph
White Route: 66.5 kms,760 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
