*NOTE* – due to frosts the meet time will slightly later at 9:30am. Saturday looks like a good day for cycling, with light winds and hopefully no rain between now and then should mean fairly dry roads. Riders are encouraged to be careful while the roads warm up.
This week all 3 routes will head south-east to do a bit of Cranborne chasing. The rides all head out on the Bay road, then across through Semley and the Donheads. The White Route turns off here through Rushmore Park, after which it rejoins the other routes. The Blue and Pink Routes carry on via Berwick St John and Ebbesbourne Wake. The Blue Route turns south here, up over the ridge line then down to Sixpenny Handley, while the Pink Route carries on to Tidpit and Cranborne. All routes then return up from Tollard Royal to an optional coffee stop at Compton Abbas Airfield, before returning via Cherry Orchard and East Stour.
Pink Route: 86.7 km, 1061 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh / 17.5 mph +
Blue Route: 67.8 km, 831 m elevation – est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph
White Route: 56.1 km, 696 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
Meet at 9.30am at Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please download your route to your GPS device, and bring your ride essentials. All rides are no drop, but please select a group suited to your ability! There is nothing stopping a faster group doing a shorter route or a slower group doing a longer route if they wish!
For those who have issues downloading their routes, here’s the guide for a Garmin device and here’s the guide for a Wahoo device.
