Kim Little was the class of the field yet again at the latest GDW mountain bike race, lapping most of the field more than once, with only second placed Nigel Brown and Kris Caines finishing on the lead lap. Vince Hounsome came up with what was probably the shortest version of the Alfred’s Tower courses so far, but it was a hard one for the riders, with a long climb which came back round a bit too quickly for some of people’s liking.
Kim managed 13 fast and consistent laps to win, a victory which also sealed the championship title. Kris Caines lost out in his scrap with Nigel due to a puncture but was able to finish after his dad Darren swapped bikes with him. Andy Parsons was two laps down in fourth with Scawen Roberts in fifth. A further lap back was James Chant in sixth, James Howell in seventh and Patsy Caines in eighth. Darren Caines finished in an unrepresentative ninth, ahead of Kian Calloway who was riding in his first race this winter while Jim Broom had his first race ever, finishing in tenth.
