There have been some more good results from the local riders this week. On Monday, Barney Cox won the bunch sprint for third at the first of the Ludgershall summer races. Two riders had already escaped the pack and were long gone by the finish but Barney was best of the rest, with Kim Little just behind in fifth.
Kim went on to win mid-week at the Mid-Devon CC mountain bike race at Haldon Hill near Exeter. Kim won his category in just under an hour, setting some Strava KOMs along the way.
At Thruxton, Charles Rees won the 3/4 cat race, going for a long break. His move paid off when the mid-race the organisers shortened the event by 10 minutes meaning Charles was in no danger of being caught. Charles came home alone, picking up a nice haul of points in his bid to get back up to 2nd cat.
One result which got inadvertently missed from the Southern XC write up was a win for Jerry Cooper. Jerry was riding in the Supervet category and led throughout, winning by nearly four minutes.
The second of the Offcamber time trials takes place tomorrow at 830am, meet at the Todber lay-by and sign in by 815.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed changes to the GDW tt calendar, we’re off to Frome on the 5th of June for the interclub event, then we’ll be at Bruton which will be followed by a second outing at Sturminster Newton.
