Unfortunately after another wet week, yet more rain is forecast overninght and into the morning. However, two routes have been planned for those prepared to don their wet suits waterproofs and the routes hopefully will avoid roads where a canoe might be a more suitable mode of transport! Please sort yourselves into sensible groups on the day.
The longer route makes its way to Milton Abbas through Marnhull, Sturminster, Hazelbury Bryan and Ansty, and returning through Stickland, Blandford and Pimperne. The shorter route turns at Ansty Cross to return over Bulbarrow on the way to Child Okeford.
The rides all end at the Old Brewery Cafe and Kitchen for coffee, cake, or brunch.
Meet at 9.30 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials, particularly sufficient liquid refreshement.
There is nothing to stop a group splitting into a ‘light’ and a ‘dark’ group, and a slower group can take on a longer route or a faster group ride a shorter route. All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability!
Long Route: 85.6 kms, 917 m elevation
Shorter Route: 62.5 kms, 711 m elevation
For those who have issues downloading their routes, here’s the guide for a Garmin device and here’s the guide for a Wahoo device.
