Perhaps the warmest Wednesday evening of the year, with no wind was the backdrop for the penultimate round of the 2023 series, and we saw the course records being broken. Alastair Luxford (14:16) beat the previous record by a handful of seconds, whilst Christina Wiejak (16:40) smashed the women’s record. Sam Thompson (15:36) was second fastest and Kelvin Hatch (15:49) was third. Shawn Gray (16:13) was fastest on a road bike, ahead of Christina and Mark Jacobs (17:04).
With just the final round to go, Alastair has secured the overall title, but in the other categories the final standings could still change.
The final round next week is again a 6 miler on the Milton on Stour course. Sign on is at 6.00 pm with the first rider starting at 6.30 pm.
Don’t forget the annual double Bulbarrow Hill climb on 16th September (9.45 am sign on, first ascent at 10.30 am).
