A grey, muggy and breezy evening was the backdrop this week for the first Gillingham 10 mile TT of the season with the roads finally all open.
Christina Wiejak (25:04) smashed the women’s course record, adding to her growing haul of records! She was also third overall on the night. Tom Clements (22:43) set an impressive benchmark ahead of Rich White (24:14) who also continues his excellent form. Roger Biles was third male rider home.
James Howell (minus 4 wisdom teeth) was 7 seconds quicker than Pete Humphreys who rode a fixie in the road bike category.
Mark Jacobs leads the overall standings ahead of Rich White, whilst James Howell is just ahead of Mark Harvey in the road bike category. Christina leads the women.
The Bruton 19 course is scheduled for next week, but please check the website and social media for confirmation later in the week. Sign on will be at 6.30 pm and the first rider will start at 7.00 pm.
We are also again short of helpers so please let Vince or James know if you can help!
