The year of the course change continues with a late switch to the Stour Provost being required due to temporary traffic lights reappearing on the Gillingham course in Mere. A warm, dry but windy evening attracted a field of 14 riders.
Christina Wiejak (23:45) smashed the women’s course record on her way to third overall. Sam Thompson (23:04) was fastest , ahead of Rich White (23:33) and Mark Jacobs (24:02) came home fourth. Adrian Riddleston (24:40) was quickest on a road bike ahead of Mark Harvey (25:14). Leanne Thompson was quickest GDW lady ahead of Jill Gosney.
After round 9, Mark Jacobs leads the men’s championship ahead of Rich White and Gary Francis. Mark Harvey leads the road bike category, ahead of James Howell and Greg Broadbent. In the ladies championship, four GDW members have completed one round each.
Next Wednesday is scheduled for a re-run on the Stour Provost course but check the website and social media for confirmation later in the week.Sign on will be at 6.30 pm and the first rider will start at 7.00 pm.
