The rain started to fall at sign on but that didn’t deter 17 hardy souls from taking to the start on the Stour Provost 10 mile course. Unfortunately the tractors were also out in force and a number of riders (Jeremy Brougham, Steve Baker, Bradley Perkins and Kate Mustill) were held up at crucial points. Gary Francis suffered a puncture as he entered Stour Row and proceeded to do his best Chris Froome on Ventoux impression, running with his bike to the finish.
Shawn Gray was fastest (22:07) ahead of Bradley Perkins (22:57) and Kelvin Hatch (23:56). Adam Baker (24:53) was fourth and fastest non-aero rider.
Ellie Cooper (27:35) was fastest lady ahead of Kate Mustill (31:01).
Well done to everyone who braved the weather and took part this week. Next week is the first longer TT of the season on the Bruton 19 mile course. Sign on again at 6.30 pm , with first rider off at 7.00 pm.
