Sunshine, warm weather and dry roads await the Saturday groups. Surely this is enough to wake the regular White Group riders from their recent hibernation! Rumour has it that Dave P will be making an appearance to top up his vitamin D levels!
All the routes head to the Tarrant valley and onto Witchampton where they all split. The White route turns and heads for home via the Crichels, Chettle and the edge of Ashmore where it joins the other routes. The Blue route heads to Wimborne St Giles and on towards Cranborne, whilst the Pink route goes to Three Legged Cross and Verwood before rejoining the Blue route around Cranborne. These routes make their way back via 6d, Zig Zag and Shaftesbury. Anyone begining to flag could make a small detour to Compton Abbas Airfield for an energy boost (or a flight home!).
Meet at 9.00 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials. Riders can choose whether to finish at The Feed Station or Cafe Corsa, for coffee, cake and a catch up.
Finally, a reminder that the Time Trial Series starts on Wednesday evening on the Milton on Stour course!
Pink Route: 97.0 kms, 1,025 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh / 17.5 mph +
Blue Route: 82.8 km, 900 m elevation – est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph
White Route: 72.3 km 760 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability! There is obviously nothing stopping a faster group doing a shorter route or a slower group doing a longer route if they wish!
For those who have issues downloading their routes, here’s the guide for a Garmin device and here’s the guide for a Wahoo device.
