The various weather apps can’t seem to agree on the wind direction for Saturday. All three routes are going to head in a south westerly direction. The Pink and Blue routes follow the same roads through Horsington and Sherborne and as far as Bradford Abbas. The Pink route then crosses the A37 to Sutton Bingham, Halstock and Evershot. The Blue route heads to Yetminster and Leigh before the routes meet up again at Lyons Gate, returning via the Caundles and Stalbridge.
The White Route initially heads to the most photographed bench in the area at Horsingston and onto Wincanton before turning south west to Milborne Port and onto Folke. The return is also through the Caundles and Stalbridge.
Meet at 9.00 am at the Wheels car park, Station Road, Gillingham. Please ensure you download your chosen route to your GPS device, and remember to bring your ride essentials.
Pink Route: 96.1 kms, 1,142 m elevation – est speed 28 kmh / 17.5 mph +
Blue Route: 81.3 km, 876 m elevation – est speed 24 kmh / 15 mph
White Route: 59.6 km, 606 m elevation – est speed 20 kmh / 12 mph
All rides are no drop rides but please select a group suited to your ability! There is obviously nothing stopping a faster group doing a shorter route or a slower group doing a longer route if they wish!
If you have ridden more than a couple of times with us, we do expect you to become a member of the club.
For those who have issues downloading their routes, here’s the guide for a Garmin device and here’s the guide for a Wahoo device.
