On Wednesday 12th May, Gillingham Wheelers are holding their first Try-a-Time-Trial on the Milton on Stour 6 mile course. This event is aimed at anyone who hasn’t ridden a Time Trial before, or not ridden one for a number of years, and is free for those people to enter. Come along, pin a number on your back and give it a go!
You can use any type of bike so long as it is road worthy, but you must wear a helmet and have a working rear light which should be switched on whilst riding.
Event HQ and Sign On is open from 6.15 pm at the Bubl Shop, Mere Road, Gillingham SP8 4EU, with the first rider starting at 7.00 pm. You will be asked to complete a consent form providing your details and then collect your race number. Riders start at one minute intervals (so don’t be late to the start line!). Once you have completed the course you should return direct to the event HQ and return your number. Times will be published on the GDW website shortly afterwards.
Riders are asked to comply with Cycling Time Trial’s Covid Guidelines which can be found on the Time Trialling section of our website, and full details of the course can also be found on the website.
At Sign On please comply with the one way system, ensuring you remain socially distanced, and you are asked to wear a face mask. Once you have signed on you should leave the sign on area to undertake your warm up.
Regular TT Riders: You may still enter the event but our normal entry fees will apply. Why not bring along a friend or partner? – you will be allowed to ride with (behind) them if you don’t want to race yourself.
