Today saw Will Edwards and Charles Rees journey down to Ilton to take part in the Somerset Spring Criterium. The fast early pace and strong winds saw young Edward’s struggling on his compact gearing and despite many strong efforts in the initial laps failed to stay in the peloton in the 35 mph+ tail wind sections. However the conditions were suited to the heavier riders with Tor 2000 taking a commanding grip on the race. With a lap to go and a strong break having formed, Charles Rees made an effort to get across the 15 second Gap only to be chased down and finish in the bunch sprint.
