At the latest WTTA Hardrider tt, held on the U59 passing by Silbury Hill and run by the Swindon RC, James Chant finished 27th with a time two minutes faster than his previous course PB to finish in 1.03.55. Grahame Reed was just behind in 31st (1.04.41) whilst Sarah Roberts received another prize in this series, although this time it was for being the Lanterne Rouge rider.
In the EDCA series, Vince Hounsome just missed out on going under the hour for the Bournemouth Arrow 25 with a time of 1.00.36 which was good enough for 23rd. Simon Barfoot felt he had an ‘off-day’ and was disappointed with his time of 1.00.51 – most of us would love to be that fast on a good day!
The Frome Wheelers kicked off their season on Thursday with a 5 mile blast up and down the Frome bypass and four GD Wheelers were present. James Chant recorded a time of 12.17 to finish in 2nd position (!) while Sarah Roberts was pleased with her time of 14.37. Nigel Brown completed the course in 12.38 with son Tom less than a minute slower on 13.31. The winner was VC Walcot rider Graham Clarke (11.59)
