Another win for Charles Rees on a windy evening lifted him up to the top of the points tables with one round to spare. Charles was just nine seconds ahead of Paul Hopkins with a good time from Kim Little placing him third. There was another bumper turn out of 40 riders, with a couple of riders competing for the first time in a while – Troy Woolacott and Sam Wells both got round in under 30 minutes. Both Mike Donovan and Jim Broom did their quickest times of the season.
Jenny Lucas was another with her quickest 2014 time, finishing with 28.49 and fastest of the women riders. Sarah Wheeler was only 10 seconds behind with Sarah Roberts in third.
It was as hotly contested as ever amongst the junior riders, George Smith was fastest (and fourth overall), eight seconds ahead of Barney Cox and 11 ahead of James Hywel-Davies. Barney and James are still tied at the top of the points but George can leapfrog them both if he is quickest at next week’s final event – winner takes all! James Howell and Maddie Howden both finished with pb times.
