Don Tanner was a busy rider at the weekend, competing in both the Corinium 10 on Saturday and the Andover Wheelers 25 on Sunday morning. Don was 46th on Saturday on the fast U47 course with a time of 23.13 and then followed that up with a 1.03.47 for the 25 tt for 29th place. Steve Way also took part in the 25 mile event and was just behind Don in 31st with 1.04.26 while Alan Smith was three minutes faster than his 25 time from last week with 1.07.43.
At Somer Valley’s Hardrider Open, a typically tough 29 miles based around Cranmore, Frome and Longleat, Grahame Reed was the first Wheeler home in 28th with a time of 1.18.50. James Chant was just three seconds slower than Grahame, maintaining the close competition between the pair of them this season. Sarah Roberts finished 41st (1.43.45) and closed in on women’s series leader Aileen Brown by two points, cutting the Bath CC rider’s lead to eight points . With just four rounds left to go these two are set for a close finish in the final table.
