The GDW juniors have scored a couple of impressive results recently, with Lauren Peacey and Barney Cox both getting victories. Lauren won her age category race at an enduro mountain bike race in early July. The two hour event was at Frith Hill and organised by the Army CU.
At the Bournemouth town centre crit race this weekend, Barney used his now-trademark super fast finish to win the combined 3rd and 4th cat race. Barney was a few bike lengths clear at the end of a fast race held in hot conditions in front of a large crowd.

In other recent mountain bike races, the National series continued at Margam Park near Cardiff on July 7th. Paul Hopkins (Merida) had the chance to wrap up the Vets title again but suffered a double puncture whilst caught behind a lapped rider on a steep drop and was forced out of the race. Andy Parsons (Offcamber) had another good run the Vets event, finishing 16th overall.
Paul headed up to Glasgow this weekend for the National Championships races, held o the new course built for forthcoming Commonwealth Games. Paul finished in sixth place against some tough opposition while Kim Little raced well to fifth up against another strong field in the Masters event.
Chris Mullett travelled over to Usk in South Wales for the Ross on Wye CC 25 mile time trial and came away with a new pb time of 1.02.51 (51st place). He found the going a lot harder today at the Poole Wheelers 25 mile tt, finishing with a 1.07.01 on a very windy morning.
