The WTTA Hardriders time trial series continued on September 1st after a two months break. Minehead CC were the organisers of a two lap, 26 miles course in the Exmoor National Park. There were two big, long climbs for the riders to cope with each lap on a technical and very picturesque course.
After starting in amongst the regular big hitters of the series, James Chant was pleasantly surprised to not be last back and to finish in 12th overall, especially after a lot of unnecessary braking on lap one due to a lack of course knowledge. James’ lap times were 37.29 and 37.50 for a 1 hour 15.19 total.
Chris Mullett was also pleased with his time, nearly two minutes quicker than in 2012. Chris recorded lap times of 39.34 and 41.15 for a finishing time of 1.20.49 giving him 18th place.
Robin Coomber (Cadence RT) somehow completed the course in 1.03.34, a new record.
The series continues with events on September 29th with the 25 miles Gloucester CCC event and then concludes on October 20th with Bristol South CC’s fabulous hillclimb event at Burrington Coombe.
