10 riders turned out to brave the wind and rain at tonight’s penultimate hillclimb, with an equal split of senior and junior riders. Kim Little won yet again, though this time he was on board his Whyte mountain bike equipped with road tyres. Barney Cox was fastest junior and second overall with a pb time which gives him a real shot of winning the junior championship – whoever is quickest out of Barney, Rowan Birch and Liam Teesdale next week will take the overall honours.
Of the other riders, Chris Gray managed a pb time while James Hywel-Davies didn’t seem to be suffering from his sprint crash at the airfield training on Monday as he finished in 5.42 in his first attempt at a hillclimb.
Thanks to Jerome and Ebby fro timing, and to Charles who claimed to be holding up and pushing off everyone from behind without using his hands…
