The Wheelers decamped to Stour Provost this evening for the first use of the new course which takes in Todber, Guys Marsh and Stour Row. Most riders produced times on a par with the usual Wyke 10 mile route as both are similarily hilly. Paul Hopkins raced round to establish the course record with a time of 23.37, beating Vince Hounsome (23.59) into second place with championship leader Simon Barfoot third (24.15). Jane Pritchard (30.48) won the women’s section for the second time this season whilst Will Edwards celebrated his 16th birthday in style by being the fastest junior (29.45).
There was an excellent turn-out of marshals for tonight’s event, many thanks to everyone who came along to help out.
