GDW debutant Kim Little stormed up the Mere Hollow hillclimb last night to set a new course record. Apparently, riders who were waiting at the start and saw his electric getaway thought that there was no way he would maintain that speed all the way up, but he obviously did, finishing in 4 minutes 35, knocking four seconds from James Gray’s record. Simon Rouse had to borrow Rob Martin’s bike after breaking his own whilst warming up, but that clearly didn’t hinder him as he managed a p.b. of 5.04 to come second. Charles Rees and James Chant tied for third, also with p.b.s for them both.
The three juniors who were present all recorded excellent times, with Ashley Martin 6th overall in 5.13, Josh Day (9th) 5.33 and Tom Brown (12th) 5.46.
