This week’s tt was held at Stour Provost but on a shortened course due to traffic lights, bringing the distance down to 8 miles. Julian was the only rider to get round in less than twenty minutes with 19.10, Kim Little was second again with 20.03 and Vince Hounsome was third (20.11). Jane Pritchard was the fastest lady rider from Jenny Lucas while Josh Day was the fastest junior rider ahead of Barney Cox. Josh has also reached the maximum points score of 450 after this result.

At the East Dorset CA 10 mile tt, Vince Hounsome did well to get 10th with a time of 24.02, while Chris Mullett was 25th with 27.27, both good times on a course that always seems to be slower than it should be.
Charles Rees has been steadily getting in to the swing of things road racing in the E/1/2 categories, putting in a string of rides that have seen him mixing it in several breakaways in various races. Charles was fourth at last week’s TLI evening criterium at Moreton and then 32nd in the Colin Carfield Memorial Race, organised by Somer Valley CC. This was a tough 60 mile race in the Mendips, taking in the climbs of Burrington Coombe, Blagdon, Smetham and Harptree Hills, described by Charles as the hardest race he’s done so far.
This coming weekend sees some Wheelers in 50 mile tt action, Vince Hounsome will be at the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers event while Simon Rouse could probably ride blindfolded as he heads back to Abergavenny to revisit the roads he got to know very well during his recent 12 hour tt.
