George smith was the sole GDW representative in the weekends Brentor Road Race. A full field of 80 riders, mainly 2nd and 3rd category started on a misty drizzly morning for 9 laps of the testing circuit. There was an early solo break from an Exeter rider lasting 2 laps before being shut down by the peloton. The chase took its toll on the peloton and numbers dwindled. George held his nerve and let other teams do the work until the selections started being made in the final 2 laps. Unfortunately George missed the winning move from Pete Haworth of Tor2000 but placed 4th in the bunch sprint to claim a well earnt 10th place.
Watch out for George and Charles in the John Andrews Memorial road race, 7th of June, on the Long Sutton circuit.
