The curse of the roadworks struck once again this week resulting in a switch from the Bruton 19 mile course to the 21 mile double loop of the Stour Provost course. It was a dry, cool and breezy evening, but only 8 riders were tempted to start.
Kelvin Hatch (49:09) set off sixth but was first over the finish line, with Michael Sleeman (53:28) second and fastest on a road bike, and Innes Wright (55:26) third.
Round 8 is scheduled for a single lap of the Stour Provost course. Sign on at 6.30 (at Stour Provost Community School) with the first rider off at 7.00 pm.
However, before that is the Gillingham Wheelers Summer Road Race on Sunday morning (start from Shaftesbury Cricket Club at 10.00 am) which has attracted a field of almost 60 riders. The race will last for about 2 hours, so, do come along to support the riders, including GDW members Adrian, Michael and Kelvin.
