A proper summer’s evening with temperatures still in the 20s saw the first of two 2-UP TTs this year. As ever, roadworks forced a change to the Sturminster Newton 10 course. The 2-ups are a bit of fun and don’t count towards the overall series, so it was a bit disappointing to see only 7 GDW riders make the effort to turn up, plus the strong paring of Tom Clements and Angus Young from Blandford.
Shawn Gray and Kelvin Hatch unsurprisingly posted the fastest time (22:42), ahead of Tom and Angus on their road bikes (23:42), with Michael Sleeman and Adrian Riddleston third (24:30). Gary, Vince and Innes rode as a three but were unable to overhaul the other pairs.
Next week should be another 10 miler on the Gillingham course. Sign on at 6.30 (at the Bubl Shop) with the first rider off at 7.00 pm.
