The roadworks saga continued this week with traffic lights at West Orchard and Mere ruling out the Stour Provost and Gillingham courses. Fortunately the roadworks on the Sturminster course were daytime only!
14 riders competed on a breezy but dry evening and this week we were able to use the full course. Alastair Luxford knocked over 30 seconds off the course record to take the win (22:03). Sam (I won’t go over 200 watts) Thompson was second (23:44) with Mark Jacobs third (24:25). Newcomer Christina Wiejak improved the ladies record by 70 seconds to set a new benchmark of 25:00.
There were some close times between Innes, Vince and Roger, and between Mark and Ben, and James H and Nick H were separated by just one second for the second week this season.
Round 7 takes place next Wednesday, and is due to be on the Sturminster Newton course. Sign on is at 6.30 pm with the first rider off at 7.00 pm, but check for updates on Facebook nearer the time.
