A warm and comparatively still evening marked the start of the long Jubilee weekend, and round 9 of the series. Even though a number of regulars were absent, with some riding the Tour of Wessex over the next 3 days, a good field of 16 took to the start.
Nick Bunyard (23:39) took the win ahead of Nigel Brown (in his third race in the last 4 days!) and Gary Francis. Nigel was also fastest non-aero rider. Angie Barlow was fastest lady ahead of Kate Mustill.
Gary Francis leads the Championship by 12 points from Vince Hounsome and Mark Harvey. Mark Harvey still has a healthy lead in the non-aero category, and Kate Mustill leads the ladies championship.
Next week sees the introduction of a new 20 mile course based on the Stour Provost circuit. Riders will follow the normal Stour Provost course, but carry on past the finish line on the first lap until Todber, where they will rejoin the normal course for a second lap. Sign on again at 6.30 pm , with first rider off at 7.00 pm. Given the length of the course, slower riders are asked to start ahead of the quickest riders.
